A hotel has 16 floors. The lobby, restaurant and gym are located on the ground floor. The guest rooms are on 1st to 5th floors.

There are 30 suites altogether in the hotel, how many suites are there on each floor if each floor has the same floor plan?

Answer:

3 suites

Explanation:

Number of floors with a lobby, restaurant and gym = 1 floor

Number of floors with guest rooms = 5 floors

Number of occupied floors = Number of floors with lobby, restaurant and gym  +  Number of floors with guest rooms = 1 + 5 = 6 floors

Remaining floors = 16 floors - 6 floors = 10 floors

Number of suites = 30

Number of suites per floor = Number of suites / number of floors remaining

= 30 / 10 ( this is because all the floors have the same plan)

                                            = 3 suites

That means, there are three suites in each floor

Hope it helps
