Answer:

we measure the area of veranda byy taking width in addition of length and breadth- house area

it means

area of veranda =outer rectangle-inner rectangle

→area=(20+3+3)(15+3+3)-20×15

→area=26×21-300

→area= 546-300

→area=246 m²

so the cost of flooring =246×200=49200 rs.

Answer:-

Total cost of flooring will be 49200 rupees.

Solution:-

Given:-

Length of house = 20 m

Breath of house = 15 m

Area = 20×15 = 300 m²

Uniform width = 3 m

So:-

Length of veranda = 20 + 2 × 3 = 26m

Breath of veranda = 15 + 2 × 3 = 21m

Area = 26×21 = 546 m²

Area of rectangle = l × b

Area of surrounding veranda = Area of veranda part - area of house

= 546- 300

= 246 m²

Therefore:-

Cost of flooring 1 m² = 200 rupees

Cost of flooring 246 m² = 246×200 = 49200 rupees

Hence:-

Total cost of flooring will be 49200 rupees.
