A house has rectangular yard in front of it for children to play. the length of the yard exceeds it's width by 9m and it's perimeter I'd 66m, find the measurement of the yard​

let the width of the rectangular field be x m, then length will be (x+6)m

Now, perimeter of the field=2(length +width)

also, given that perimeter =60m

Thus, 60=2[(x+6)+x]

60/2=(x+6+x)

30=2x+6

30-6=2x

24=2x

24/2=x

12=x

Hence, width of the field is 12m and length is x+6 i.e 12+6=18m
