Answer:

The total cost of electricity consumption, in given question will be - Rs. 10

Given - 1 bulb consumes - 40 W

10 bulb will consume - 400 W

Hence, total power consumed by all the bulbs in house is 400W.

Now, electricity consumed is calculated by the product of amount of power consumed and time.

Time given - 10 hours

Therefore total electricity consumed - 400*10

Electricity consumed - 4000Wh = 4KWh.

1 unit of electricity is "the amount of electrical energy consumed by a load of 1 kW power rating in 1 hour."

Since, 1 unit costs Rs. 2.50

4 unit will cost - 2.50*4 = 10

Therefore, cost of lighting 10 tubes of 40W each for 10 hours will be Rs 10
