A house is fitted with ten 60 W lamps. How much electric energy is consumed for lighting these lamps for a month of 30 days at a rate of 5 hours a day?

We know that
E = power x time
E = 60 x 5
E = 300 joules
Now if we use this lamp for 30 days then energy would be
30 x 300= 9000 joules
Now energy used by 10 lamps would be 9000 x 10 = 90000 joules
