1. The author(Zan Gaudioso) says that his first year at school was not pleasant.He felt like a freshman and felt lonely.His old friends had joined different schools.However,he visited his old teachers who advised him to take part in school activities.
2. One Sunday his house caught fire.His mother and he came to the front yard.The fire had surrounded the place.He went to the neighbors to call the fire department.
3. The author's mother ran out of the house with important documents.She ran back into the house soon to get back some pictures and letters.
4. The firemen came.The author told them that his mother was inside the house.
5. The firemen wrapped the author with a blanket and seated him in the car.Another brought his mother who had inhaled a little more smoke.However, she was alright.
6. The author's cat was seen nowhere.He cried due to that.They went to the night grandparents for the night.
7. The author went to school the next day.He was in his old dress but had no shoes.His backpack was also gone.He didn't want to grew up band wanted to die.
8. His heart ached for the cat. A place was to be found for nothing.
9. Soon all came to know about author's plight.He was taken to gymnasium.The table inside had a collection of school things like notebook, jeans,tops,sweatsuits etc.
10. The author grew emotional. He felt great relief as people came to see him.He made many friends that day.
11. A month later the author was at home.It was being built. His two friends from school visited him.He realized that his life was getting the same again.
12. Soon a women came and asked him if the cat that she had was his. The cat purred happily.It had ran away due to the fire.The author's telephone number was written on the cat's collar.
13. The author sat with his friends. The feeling of loss and sad event had vanished.He felt gratitude for his life and new friends.His life was on the same track again.
