a housing society used to collect rainwater from the roof of its building 22m x 20m to a cylindrical vessel having diameter of base 2m and height 3.5m and then pump this water into the main water tank so that all members can use it. On a particular day the rain water collected from the roof just filled the cylindrical vessel. Then find the rainfall in cm. what value of housing society is reflected in this question ?

Volume of cylinder is equal to the volume of rain

So,

ฯr^2h=lbh

(H=height of rainfall on that day)

22/7×1×1×3.5=22×20×h

H=1/40m or h=2.5cm
