Ans:

• The dates are so important to study History because, they describe an event of a certain period.

• The dates help to study the History in a Chronological order.

• We could not have divide the History as Ancient, Mediaeval and Modern without dates.

• Hence, to study a particular event of a certain period , the dating is compulsory.

(b) Mention some moments of wonder that occurred during human civilization.

Ans:

• The origin of human is itself a wonder during human civilization.

• The settlements took place during human civilization is another wonder.

• The religious beliefs, social conditions, trade etc were the other moments of wonder.

(c) How did James Mill periodise Indian history ?

Ans:

• Generally, the History of India is periodised as Ancient, Mediaeval and Modern.

• But James Mill, an intellectual periodised Indian History in unique way.

• He periodised the Indian History as "Hindus, Muslims and Christians".

• He periodised it on the basis of religion of rulers of that particular period.
