Answer:

hey

a) acid + base gives salt and water

eg HCl+NaOH -----> NaCl+ H2O

it is called neutralisation reaction

b) salts are produced by neutralisation reaction

and are neutral in nature

eg NaCl.

c)metallic oxide are basic in nature

and when they react with an acid they carry on naturalization reaction

d) similarly non metallic oxide are acidic in nature and they react with base to form salt and water

hope it helps ❤❤❤❤

\huge\underline\mathfrak\red{Answer}:-

a) Acids and base react with each other to form water. This is known as Neutralisation reaction as the effect of base is nullified and acid is vice - versa.

Acid + Base -----------> Salt + water

Example:-

NaOH + HCL ----------> NaCl + H2O

Salts and their Family:-

Family of salt :- Salts having some positive and negative radicals are said to belong to a family.

Example:- NaCL & Na2SO4 belong to the family of sodium sulphate.

PH of salts :-

We We can identify whether a salt is acidic basic or neutral in nature.

• Salts of a strong acid and a strong base are called neutral with PH value of 7.

• Salt of a strong acid and a weak base are acidic with PH value less than 7.

• Strong base and weak acid are basic in nature with PH value more than 7

Reaction with metallic oxides with Acids :-

Metal Oxides + Acid -----> Salt + Water

Reaction of non metallic oxide with base:-

→ Metallic oxides are acidic in nature :-

Non - Metallic oxide+ Base -------> Salt +Water
