Leishmania reproduces with binary fission whereas plasmodium undergoes multiple fission. In Leishmania a single celled organism is divided into two daughter cells. In plasmodium a single individual is divided into many daughter cells simultaneously .

Answer:

Parasitic protozoa of the genus Leishmania (Kinetoplastida: Trypanosomatidae) are generally thought to multiply by binary fission; however, data from quantitative microspectrophotometry indicate that nuclear fusion or sexual reproduction takes place in the intracellular amastigote form.
