a. From left to right in a period the metallic character decreases

reason : As we move left to right in a period the number of electron increases and it become difficult for the nucleus to lose the electrons

b.Size of an atom from left to right in a period increases *but the atom of an inert gases are slightly bigger then the rest

reason: as the number of electrons increases the nucleus pulls the valence electrons more to itself and then the size decrease(atomic radii is the distance between the valence shell from the nucleus )
