(a) How many square tiles of side 25cm will be required to cover a floor 12m

long and 10 m wide ? Also find the cost of tiles at the rate of rupees 8 per tile.

\bf\green{\checkmark{AnsweR:-}}

GiʋҽN:-

Each side of the square tile = 25 cm

Length of the floor = 12 m

Width of the floor = 10 m

Cost of each tile = Rs.8

To FiɳD:-

No. of tiles required to cover the floor = ??

Cost of tiles = ??

SoɭυƚioN:-

Side of each square tile = 25 cm

Length of the floor = 12 m

Width of the floor = 10 m

Here the measurements are given in different units.

So, at first we need to convert them into a single unit.

\large{\boxed{\bf{\bigstar{1~m=100~cm}}}}}

\sf\red{:\implies12~m=12\times100=1,200~cm}

\sf\red{:\implies10~m=10\times100=1,000~cm}

•°• Length = 1,200 cm & Breadth = 10,000 cm

So, the square tiles required = Area of the floor ÷ area of tile

➪   \pink\bf{\dfrac{Area~of~floor}{Area~of~square~tile}}

➪  Area of floor = Length × Breadth

➪ 1,200 × 1,000 = 12,00,000 cm²

➪ Area of square tile = Side × Side

➪ 25 × 25 = 625 cm²

➪  \pink\bf{\dfrac{Area~of~floor}{Area~of~square~tile}}

➪  \pink\bf{\dfrac{12,00,000}{625}}

➪ 1,920 tiles are required to cover the floor.

The cost of tiles = 1920 × 8 = Rs. 15,360

(b) Find the least number which when divided by 12 , 15 , 20 and 54 leaves remainder 8.

\bf\green{\checkmark{AnsweR:-}}

At first we need to see the LCM of 12, 15 , 20 and 54.

Next step is to add 8 with the solution.

\bf:\implies{12=2\times2\times3}

\bf:\implies{15=3\times5}

\bf:\implies{20=2\times2\times5}

\bf:\implies{54=2\times3\times3\times3}

LCM = 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 3 × 5

        = 540

So the required number which leaves remainder 8 is,

= 540 + 8

= 548

(c)Yash had to travel 758 km 510m. He covered 426 km 85m by train and 175   km 940m by bus. Find the distance (in km) left to be covered .

\bf\green{\checkmark{AnsweR:-}}

Total distance Yash had to travel = 758 km 510m

Distance he covered by train = 426 km 85m

Distance he covered by bus =  175   km 940m

ie,

The distance he already covered ,

= 426 km 85 m + 175 km 940 m

=  ( 4,26,000 m + 85 m ) + ( 1,75,000 m + 940 m)

= 4,26,085 m + 1,75,940 m

= 6,02,025 m

So the distance left to be covered,

= 758 km 510 m - 6,02,025 m

= (7,58,000+ 510) - 6,02,025

= 7,58,510 - 6,02,025

= 1,56,485 m

On converting into km, we get,

\bf\purple{:\implies\dfrac{1,56,485}{1000}=156.485}

\bf\purple{:\implies156.485~km}

All Done!!♥
