Given:-

  • Distance travelled by hummingbird ,d = 40m

  • Time taken ,t = 10 min.

To Find:-

  • Average speed , Av.

Solution:-

Conversion of Unit

1 min = 60s

∴ 10min = 10×60 = 600s

As we know that Average Speed is defined as the total distance travelled by a body divided by total time taken.

Av. Speed = Total Distance/total time

Av.Speed = d/t

Substitute the value we get

→ Av.Speed = 40/600

→ Av.Speed = 0.066 m/s

The average speed of the hummingbird is 0.066 m/s.
