Answer:

Initial Position of the hunter = 412.5 m

Final Position of the hunter from the cliff = (412.5 - x ) m = Distance (d)

Time (t) = 2.2 s

= 2.2/2 s

= 1.1s

[Since the sound goes to the cliff, reflects and then comes to the hunter]

Speed of sound in air (S) = 330 m/s

Speed = Distance/Time

= 330 = (412.5 - x )/1.1

= 363 = 412.5-x

= x = 49.5 m

Value of x is 49.5 m or, 0.0495 km.

I hope this helps.
