<b>{Electron after absorbing 10.2 eV energy goes to its first excited state (n=2) from ground state (n = 1).

∴

Increase in momentum

=h2π

=6.6×10−346.28=1.05×10−34J}

TRICK ; Check for 'increased by' in the question

Explanation:

The orbital angular momentum of an electron is given by : n h/2π

By absorbing 10.2 ev , it gets excited to the 2nd orbit

Where the angular momentum = 2h/2π

The increase in momentum = h/2π ( ie 1h/2π is at ground and taking the difference )

The increase in momentum = 6.6 x 10⁻³⁴ / 2 x 3.14

                                              = 1.05 x10⁻³⁴
