B.i. Two characteristics features of collenchyma tissue are-
- The cell wall is thick due to extra deposited cellulose at the corner.
- There is no or very little intercellular space between the cells.
ii. It provides mechanical support to growing parts of plants due to cellulose wall thickening. It provides flexibility to various plant parts such as leaves and stem thereby helping them to bend easily without breaking.
C. The movement of xylem is in upward direction where is the movement of phloem is an upward and downward both directions. Xylem is used for the transportation of water where is phloem is used for the transportation of food which is known as translocation.
D. Adipose tissue acts as a shock absorber in animal bodies.It mostly contains of fat and helps in controlling the body temperature.
