(a) In a double slit interference experiment, the two coherent beams have slightly different intensities I and I + δI (δI<< I). Show that the resultant intensity at the maxima is nearly 4I while that at the minima is nearly \frac{(\delta I)^{2}}{4I}.
(b) What is the reason of interference due to which a variety of colors are seen in gasoline splotches on a wet street? Why are these colors not seen on a dry street?
