Answer:

India being the world's largest democracy is divided with culture and dialects but united with festival duties. We Indians share a really intimate bond when it comes to God and the activities related to them. A festival is usually a celebration by a community which is carried out in all the states of India. The history of India has many foreign influences and that's why our food and culture is influenced by them. In the North, festivals like Lohri, Baisakhi, Herath from Kashmir or the famous Durga Pujo from Bengal, Chhat Puja from Bihar and the very famous harvest festival of Makar Sankranti. Festivals are a medium of joy and happiness in the environment and are celebrated without any differences. Mythology does play a big role in festivals, like in the case of Bakri Eid, Diwali, Holi and Pongal. Food cooked during the festive season is meant to be the most decadent and delicious, whether it's Mutton Biryani on Bakri Eid or freshly made Puran Polis and Chakli on Diwali or the floating with Ghee Prasad outside the Gurudwaras. The festivals of the Eastern part of India or moreover the seven sisters is still very alien to the people as it isn't celebrated around much but some of the them are Bihu, Akshokashtami, Cheiraoba and many more.

Festivals are the pride of our own nation and everyone should be an active participant in trying to contribute cultural awareness and help spread harmony across the country
