A inductor of 5H inductance carries a steady current of 2A.How can 50V self induced emf be made to appear in the inductor?

The induced emf can be produced by decreasing the current to zero at  0.2 s

Explanation:

According to the problem the inductance of the inductor,p is 5H

it carries 2A of current.

p = 5H

induced emf= 50V

pdI/dt= 50

dt= p x dl/50

=> dt= 5 x 2/50

         = 0.2 s

Therefore the induced emf can be produced by decreasing the current to zero at  0.2 s
