Present age of A : 35 years

Let present age of B be ' x ' years. So, present age of A will be ' 20 + x '

• A = 20 + x - 5
• B = x - 5

According to question :

20 + x - 5 = 3 ( x - 5 )

⇒ 15 + x  = 3x - 15

⇒ 15 + 15 = 3x - x

⇒ 30 = 2x

⇒ 30/2 = x

∴ x = 15

• Present age of B is 15 years
• Present age of A : 20 + 15 = 35 years
