x - 3y = 5 - 15

Substituting value if x from Eq..1 to Eq..2

x - 3y = -10

20 + y - 3y = -10

y - 3y = -20 -10

-2y = -30

2y = 30

y = 30/2

y = 15

Substituting the value of y in Eq..1 to derive value of x

x = 20 + y

x = 20 + 15

x = 35

The present age of A is 35 years and present age of B is 15 years
