A is 24 years elder than B.

A = 24 + B (i)

Ten years Back A was 5 times the age of B.

A - 10 = 5 (B - 10) (ii)

A - 10 = 5B - 10 (ii)

Substitute 24 + B from eqn. i , in place of A In eqn. ii

A - 10 = 5B - 50 (ii)

(24 + B) - 10 = 5B - 50

Separate like terms,

B - 5B = -50 + 10 - 24

-4 B = -64

B = 16

Hence, present age of,

B is 16 years old
A is 40 years old
