\mathfrak{\large{\underline{\underline{Answer:-}}}}

A is a soluble metal oxide.We know that metal oxides are basic in nature and when they dissolved in water they form corresponding base.

Effect in ph of pure water when A is dissolved:-

since, oxide of metal is basic in nature therefore it form base and the ph of base is always greater than 7 .

Ex :- Na2O + H2O NaOH

Case :- 2

We know that oxide of non - metal is acidic in nature.And when we dissolved it in to water it form corresponding acid.

Effect in Ph of pure when when the b is dissolved:-

When b is dissolved in water it forms acid and the ph value of acid is less than 7.

Ex :- CO2 + H20 H2CO3
