The value of x is equal to 3 or 4. Therefore the speed id equal to 3 km/hr or 4 km/hr.

Explanation:

Let A's speed  = x  km/hr

Then B's speed = (7 - x) km/hr

Thus 24/x + 24 / (7 -x ) = 14

=> 24 (7 -x )  + 24 x = 14x (7 -x )

=> 168 = 98 x -14x^2

=> 14x^2 - 98 x + 168 = 0

x^2 - 7x + 12 = 0

(x - 3) (x -4 ) = 0

X = 3 , x = 4

The value of x is equal to 3 or 4. Thus the speed is equal to 3 km/hr or 4 km/hr.
