let after x years from today A will be twice as old as B .
then (34+x)=2(4+x)
34+x= 8+2x
34-8=2x-x
26=x

according to the question

Age of A= 34+x
Age of B= 2(4+x)

2(4+x)= 34+x
8+2x= 34+x
solve the equation

2x-x= 34-8

x= 26
