∠A is right angle in ΔABC. AD is an altitude of the triangle. If AB=√ 5, BD=2, find the length of the hypotenuse of the triangle.

According to Geometric Mean Theorem.

If h denotes the altitude in a right triangle and p and q the segments on the hypotenuse then the theorem can be stated as:

 h= \sqrt{pq}  .
