Concept: A prime number is a natural number that is bigger than 1 and is not the sum of two other natural numbers. An unprime natural number greater than 1 is referred to as a composite number. For instance, the number 5 is prime because the only possible ways to write it as a product, 1 5 or 5 1, require the number 5.

Given: a is the 5th prime number

b is the 7th prime number

To find:  b-a

Solution:

As it is given that 'a' is the 5th prime number i.e., 11

(5th prime number between 1 to 100 is 11)

'b' is the 7th prime number i.e., 17

(7th prime number between 1 to 100 is 17)

Therefore, b - a = 17 - 11 = 6

Hence, difference between the 7th prime number and 5th prime number is 6.
