Answer:

y = 2x+4

Step-by-step explanation:

Points (-2,0), (0,4)

Equation of line: y=mx+b

m = slope

m= y2-y1/x2-x1

m= 4-0/0--2 = 4/2 = 2

y= 2x+b

Plug in one of the points to get b (-2,0)

0=2*(-2)+b

0=-4+b

4=b

y = 2x+4

Given : A is the point (-2, 0) and B is the point (0, 4)

To Find :  Equation of the straight line joining A and B.

Solution:

A (-2 , 0)

B (0 , 4)

Slope m  = ( 4 - 0)/(0 -(-2)) = 4/2  = 2

Equation of line is

(y - y₁) = m (x - x₁)

y - 4  = 2(x - 0)

=> y - 4 = 2x

=> y  = 2x  + 4

the equation of the straight line joining A and B is y  = 2x  + 4
