A is thrice as good a workman as B and takes 10 days less to do a piece of work than B takes. B alone can do the whole work in?
By selling oranges at Rs. 12 per kg, a man loses 10%. For gaining 25%, what should be the cost price?
An article is sold at a profit of 20%. If both the cost price and selling price are Rs. 100 less, the profit would be 4% more. Find the cost price ?

QUESTION-
A is thrice as good a workman as B and takes 10 days less to do a piece of work than B takes.
ANSWER
The ratio of times taken by A and B =1:3 Means B will take 3 times which A will do in 1 time.
If the difference of time is 2 days, B takes 3 days.
If difference of time is 10 days B takes
3/2×10=15 days
ANSWER 2
S.P.(Loss) : C.P. = S.P.(Gain)
90 : 100 = 150
Hence, Price S.P.(%) Price S.P.(%)
12 : 90 = x : 125
∴x= 12*125/90=Rs.16.67
ANSWER 3
Let CP =x=x, so S.P =1.2x
When CP is Rs. 100 less,
CP=x−100
SP=1.2x−100
Now,
1.2x−100=1.24×(x−100)
On solving , we get
x=600
CP=Rs.600

➡️Let,
➡️Ratio of times taken by A and B = 1:3
➡️The B take 3 times when A will do it in 1 time
➡️The difference of time is 2 days, B takes 3 days
➡️If difference of time is 10 days, B takes
=>(3/2)(10)
=>30/2
=>15days

➡️S.P(loss) :CP=S.P(gain)
=>90:100=150
➡️Hence, Price S.P.(%) Price S.P.(%)
=>12:90=x:125
=>4:30=x:125
=>2:15=x:125
=>2(125)=15x
=>15x=2(125)
=>3x=2(25)
=>x=50/3
=>x=16.666..

➡️Let CP x.
➡️SP = 1.2x.
➡️When CP is Rs. 100 less,
=>CP = x - 100
=>SP = 1.2x - 100.
➡️Now,
=>1.2x- 100 = 1.24×(x-100)
=>1.2x-100=1.24x-124
=>1.2x-1.24x=-124+100
=>-0.04x=-24
=>4/100x=24
=>4x=24×100
=>x=6×100
=>x=600
On Solving, we get
X = 600.
CP = Rs. 600.
