Let A's age be x years.

B's age be y years.

ATQ,
x=2y...(i)

Five years ago,
x-5=3(y-5)

x-5=3y-15

x-3y-5+15=0

x-3y+10=0

x-3y= -10...(ii)

Substitute value of x in (ii)

2y-3y=-10

-y=-10

y=10.

Substitute value of y in (i)
x=2(10)
x=20.

Hence, the age of A is 20 years while the age of B is 10 years.
