Present age of B will = x yrs.

Five years ago:
Age of A = 2x-5 yrs.
Age of B = x-5 yrs.

A. T. Q.
2x-5=3(x-5)
2x-5=3x-15
3x-2x=15-5
x=10
Therefore Present age of B = 10yrs.
Present age of A = 2×10yrs. = 20yrs.

Solution -

Let's the present age of A to be 2x

So, the present age of B to be x

Age of A before 5 yrs = (2x - 5) yrs

Age of B before 5 yrs = (x - 5) yrs

According to Question,

2x - 5 = 3(x - 5)

=> 2x - 5 = 3x - 15

=> - 5 + 15 = 3x - 2x

=> 10 = x

The present age of A = 2x yrs

= 2(10) yrs

= 20 yrs

The Present age of B = x yrs

= 10 yrs
