Construct an iscocseles triangle ABC and B=90° and AB = BC = x

Area of ABC = 1/2 × base × height

8= 1/2 × x × x

X^2 = 16

X = 4 cm

X = AB = BC = 4 cm

Now Pythagoras theorem

AC^2 = AB^2 + BC^2

AC^2 = 4^2 +4^2

AC^2 = 16 + 16

AC = 5.65 CM
