Number of blue balls removed = 3
After that ,
The probability of getting blue ball =1/5
Number of blue ball left = 1/5 ×18 = 3
Number of blue balls in the jar initially = 3+3= 6

Answer:

6 blue balls

Step-by-step explanation:

Total number of balls = 18

3 blue balls are removed from the jar

Total number of balls = 18-3 =15

Now the probability of getting a blue ball is 1/5

So, Number of blue balls = \frac{1}{5} \times 15 = 3

So, Number of blue balls initially = 3+3 = 6

Hence jar contains 6 blue balls initially.
