The number of blue marbles in the jar is =8

Step-by-step explanation:

Probability: The ratio of favorable outcomes to the total outcomes.

Probability= \frac{\textrm{Favorable outcomes}}{\textrm{Total outcomes}}

Let total number of green marble be x

Total number of marbles = 24

Therefore the probability of a green marble is =\frac{x}{24}

According to the problem ,

\frac{x}{24} =\frac{2}{3}

\Rightarrow x=\frac{2\times 24}{3}

\Rightarrow x= 16

Therefore the number of green marbles in the jar is = 16

Then the number of blue marbles in the jar is =(24-16)=8
