Given:

A jar contains 3 mangoes and x guavas

To find:

The probability that one fruit is mango another is guava.

Solution:

1) Probability[E]=Number of the favorable outcome / total number of outcomes.

means the possibility of any event to happen.

2) Now finding the probability:

  • Number of mangoes is 3
  • Number of Guavas is x
  • Total items x+3

P(one is mango and other is guava) = (3/x+3)(x/x+2)

                                                           = \frac{3x}{(x+3)(x+2)}

The probability that one fruit is mango another is guava \frac{3x}{(x+3)(x+2)}
