2176

Step-by-step explanation:

Complete question is

A jar contains ‘x’ liters of Milk, a seller withdraws 25% liter of it and sells it at Rs.20 per liter. He then replaces it water. He repeated the process total three times. Every time while selling he reduces selling price by Rs.2. After this process Milk left in the mixture is only 108 liters so he decided to sell the entire Mixture at Rs. 15 per liter. Then how much profit did he earned if bought Milk at Rs.20 per liter?

Total Initial cost = 20x  Rs

He withdraws 25% Litre of milk = (25/100)x = x/4  Litre

Selling price = 20 * x /4  = 5x  Rs

Mix water in the milk

Now mixture has  3x/4  milk   & x/4  water

Now Selling Price = (20-2) * x/4  =  4.5x Rs

x/4  Has  3x/16  milk & x/16  water

so now mixture has

9x/16 milk   & 7x/16  water

Now selling Price = (18-2)*x/4  =  4x  Rs

x/4 has 9x/64 milk  & 7x/64 Water

So final mixture has

27x/64 milk   37x/64  water

27x/64  = 108

=> x = 256 Litre

Selling Price of x  = 15x

Total selling Price = 5x + 4x + 4.5x + 15x  = 28.5x  Rs

Profit = 28.5x - 20 = 8.5x Rs

Profit = 8.5 * 256  =  Rs 2176
