GIVEN,

MP = Rs. 2590

SP = Rs. 2331

D% = ?

WE KNOW THAT

SP = (1-(D%/100))*MP

SP/MP =1 - (D%/100)

2331/2590 = (100 - D%)/100

(2331 * 100)/2590 = 100 - D%

90 = 100 - D%

D% = 10%

Concept:

The discount is defined as the Marked Price minus the selling price. and the discount percentage is defined as \frac{Discount}{Marked Price} 100

Given:

For the jeans, the Marked price is Rs. 2590 and the Selling price is Rs.2331.

FInd:

We are asked to find the discount percentage of the given jeans.

Solution:

For the jeans,

The Marked price = Rs. 2590

The Selling price = Rs.2331

∴ Discount = Marked Price - Selling Price

∴ Discount = 2590 - 2331

∴ Discount = 259

To find the discount percentage,

% Discount = \frac{Discount}{Marked Price} 100

∴ % Discount = \frac{259}{2590} × 100 = 10%

Thus, there is 10% discount marked on the jeans.
