AnswEr :

  • Speed of products of combustion with respect to the ground = - 200km/h

Given :

Velocity of jet(Vj) = 1000 km/h

Velocity of hot air(Smoke, Vs) = 800 km/h

To Find :

Speed of products of combustion with respect to the ground = ?

Solution :

According to the question,

Relative speed of the products of combustion with respect to the airplane(Vg) would be,

Vs = Vg - Vj

Vg = -Vj + Vs

Vg = -1000 + 800

Vg = -200 km/h

Here, the minus sign indicates the direction of the products of combustion !!
