A jet plane flying in atmosphere throw out a rapid stream of gas forced out  from it's tail which rush down at a high speed and to conserve momentum, the jet plane moves upwards. The jet of hot gases may be realized to be moving due to the action force and the jet plane, therefore, moves due to the reaction force of the gases ejected from behind.
