A jogger jogs along one length and breadth of a rectangular park.If the dimensions of park are 150m×120m,then find the distance travelled and displacement of the jogger.

150 + 120 = 270
-displacement
√(150^2 +120^2)
=√36900
=30√41

1 length and 1 bredth = 150m + 120m

:. Distance traveled = 270m

Displacement is to be done by Pythagoras Theorem,

Let the rectangular ground be ABCD, Then

(BD)^2 = (BC)^2 + (DC)^2

BD = √(150)^2 + √(120)^2

BD = √(36900)

BD = 30√41

:. Displacement = 30√41m
