speed=8km/h
total rest he take=1÷2(12÷3)=2hours
distance=12km
time=distance÷speed
time=12÷8
=1.5hours
total time=time+rest time taken
=1.5+2
=3.5hours

Answer:

3 hours

Step-by-step explanation

Time consumed  by the jogger to rest = (30+30+30) min= 1.5 hours

(we have taken three rests as the first rest after 3km , second rest after 6km and third rest after 9km . We will not take 4 rests as the 4th rest will be there after the jogger completes 12km so 12 km are already covered and we don't have to take the 4th rest.)

Time consumed to run = d/s = 12/8 = 1.5 hours

Total time taken = (1.5+1.5)hours = 3hours
