A jokers cap is in the form of a right circular cone of base radius 7cm and height27 cm find the area of sheet required to make 10 such caps

For a conical cap,

Given: Base radius(r)= 7 cm

            Height (h)       = 27 cm.

To find : Sheet required to make 10 such caps.

Solution: First we have to find value of length(l),

               ∴ Acc. to Pythagoras theorem....

                  l^{2}=r^{2} + h^{2}

                  l^{2}=7^{2} + 27^{2}

                  l^{2}= 49 + 729

                  l^{2}= 778  

                   l                      =\sqrt{778}        

                   l                      =27.89....

               ∴  l                      =27.89 cm

              Sheet required to make a cap=\pirl

              (curved   surface   area)          

                                                                  =\frac{22}{7}*7*27.89

                                                                  = 613.58 sq.cm

   

            Sheet required to make 10 caps=Sheet required to make a cap*10

                                                                    =613.58*10

                                                                    =6125.8 sq.cm  

Answer : Sheet required to make 10 caps is 6135.8 sq.cm
