Petrol consumed in 500 km journey = 20 litres

Petrol consumed for 1 km journey = 20/500 = 1/25 litre

Petrol consumed for 750 km journey = 1/25 × 750 = 30 litres

Now,

Distance travelled by 20 litres petrol = 500 km

Distance travelled by 1 litre petrol = 500/20 = 25 km

Distance travelled by 27 litres petrol = (25 × 27) km = 675 km

500 km = 20 liters

Find 1 km:

500 km = 20 liters

1 km = 20 ÷ 500 = 0.04 liters

Find 750 km:

1 km = 0.04 liters

750 km = 0.04 x 750 = 30 liters

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

20 liters = 50 km

Find 1 liters:

20 liters = 500 km

1 liter = 500 ÷ 20 = 25 km

Find 27 liters:

1 liter = 2.5 km

27 liters = 25 x 27 = 675 km

Answer: 750 km needs 30 liters. 27 liters can travel 675 km
