then.
 {v}^{2}  =  {u}^{2}  - 2gh
if v is 0
u=√2gh. take g as 10. and substitute

v² = u²+2gh
0² = u²+2×-9.8×1.28
-u² = -9.8×2.56
u² = 9.8×2.56
u² = 24.988
u = √24.988
u = 4.99 = 5.0 m/s

Initial velocity of kangaroo is approximately 5 m/s.
