Answer:

A. Serial

Explanation:

Data transmission is a process in which digital and analog data is transferred between two or more devices. Transfer or Share is done. The data that is shared is in the form of bits. When we transfer or share the data So there is definitely some medium of sharing and transmission of data between devices. (eg:- coaxial cable, fiber optic, etc.).We are used to sharing data both short distances and long distances.

In serial data transmission, data bits are transmitted one after the other in sequence, data is transmitted in a serial order In this, only one communication line is used to transfer data between the sender and the receiver. Therefore, the data bits are transmitted serial-wise from one line only. Its speed is slow because data is shared in a series, serial transmission is used for long-distance transmission.

In Asynchronous Transmission, only one character is sent at a time, it can be a character, number, or alphabet, in which the start and stop bits are used to transmit the data. The start bit alerts the receiver that new data bits are about to arrive. This bit is sent before any character is transmitted. The start bit has a value of 0 or 1 When the value is 0 then it is known that character transfer is about to happen, it alerts the receiver and keeps him ready to receive the character. When the value is 1, it indicates that the communication line is idle.

The stop bit indicates that the data bits have been exhausted, that is, it informs the receiver that the data bits are over. Normally the value of the stop bit is 1.
