A keypad uses 6 letter keys to enter a 3-letter code. What would make this lock more safe? 1) Making the codes one place longer? 2) Adding one more letter key?

I think both are the same thing....

But, I suggest to use second option...

because it is safe to have 4 digit code thane 3 digit code
