There once lived a king who was very hard working and honest. He will never give up until he succeeds in his work and had never lied to anyone. But the only drawback he had is that, he was ugly. All the courtiers he appointed praised him to get many rewards and good name from the king. They never suggested any ideas but simply praised him for his moves. He soon realised their intensions and he started disliking their flattery. As he was a king, no one was ready to utter the truth before him. He decided to go out of his palace and ask the people of his kingdom one by one, but was all in vain when he got the same answer. One day, he thought of a good plan to get the truth. He found an old man who was in need of food for his family badly. He immediately put him in prison for no reason. He terribly insulted his wife and his child before everyone. The disgusted prisoner, told him what he looked like before everyone honestly without hesitation. The impressed king then released him and apologised for his behavior towards the old man's family. He also satisfied all his needs and made him as the chief minister for his honesty.
HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY
