Let CK be the height at which kite is flying

Given CK = 80 m

Given ∠KBD = 30°

tan ∠KBD = KD/KB

⇒ 1/√3  = KD/KB

KB = KD √3

But KD = KC - CD and CD = AB

Hence KD = 80 - 10 = 70 m

So, KB = 70√3 m

= 121.2 m

Length of the thread is 121.2 m
