A kite in the shape of a square with diagonal 32 cm and an isosceles triangle of base 8 cm and sides 6 cm each is to be made of three different shades as shown in fig. How much paper shade has been used in it.

Answer:

PART 1:Larger triangle

Diagonal=32cm

Base=32cm

Height=32/2      (Diagonals of square bisect each other)

                                                =16cm

Area= Base*Height

       = 32*16

       =520cm^2

PART 2:Smaller Triangle

Base=b=8cm

Equal side=a=6cm

Area=b\sqrt{} \frac{4a^{2}-b^{2}  }{4}

       =17.88cm^2

Total area=17.88+520

                =537.88cm^2
