Given : Tricolor kites

Tricolor kites in the shape of square with  diagonal 44 cm and an isosceles triangle of base 14cm and side 20 cm

To Find :   area enclosed by square ABCD

company has got an order for making 100 such kites, then how much paper of green  shade is needed.

Solution:

square with  diagonal 44 cm

Area = (1/2) * 44  * 44  =  968 cm²

area enclosed by square ABCD   =  968 cm²

Half Area = 968/2 = 484 cm²

isosceles triangle of base 14cm and side 20 cm

Sides 14 , 20 , 20

s = ( 14 + 20 + 20 )/2 = 27

Area = √27(27 - 14)(27 - 20)(27 - 20)

=  √3*3*3(13)(7)(7)

= 21 √39

= 131.14  cm²

As figure is not missing so which color is where is not known.

Two colors  Each area = 484 cm²

One color area  = 131.14  cm²

an order for making 100 such kites,

green  shade  needed = 100 x  484    or 100 x 131.14

= 48400 cm²  or  13114 cm²
